Graphics

We strongly suggest using Orbital Truss graphics printed by the manufacturer. The technical specs for some of the more involved units can be very complex. Outside graphic producers may make costly sizing mistakes causing missed event dates. All graphic specs are manufacturer provided. Neither the Manufacturer, TradeShowTruss nor its sister companies will be held responsible for errors contained within these specs. Graphics produced by the manufacturer are guaranteed to fit.

Terminology:

Each graphic specification sheet has terms your graphic artist must have working knowledge of prior to creating your graphics.

• FS = Front Side: Panels noted with "FS" will be mounted to the truss on the front side facing forward. Velcro or magnetic strips will be placed on the back side of the graphics for adhesion to the truss unit.

• BS = Back Side: Panels noted as "BS" will be mounted to the back side of the truss facing forward. Velcro or magnetic strips will be placed on the front side of the graphics for adhesion to the truss unit. 3/4" of the print size will be lost on each side that must adhere to the truss.

• HINGED = Panel Crease: When 2 panels try to occupy the same area, one must be creased. Panel creasing is only used on laminated and direct-to-substrate panels. Dye sublimated panels cannot be creased. When two dye sublimated panels try to occupy the same space, one is trimmed short and not attached to the truss.

• NOTCH = Square Cutout: When a panel is placed next to a portion of truss that is intersected with another piece of truss, the graphic panel must be given a 3/4" square corner cut so it will lay flat against the truss.

Viewable Print Size vs. Actual Print Size

The above PDF gives graphic sizes at final trimmed size. For laminated and direct-to-substrate printing add 1/2 inch bleed to each side for trimming. Dye sublimated fabric graphics require 2" on each of the 4 sides. It is very important to take into account what is the viewable print size for each panel. Each panel will have 3/4" Velcro or magnetic strips around its perimeter for attachment to the truss unit. If your graphics are being placed on the back of the truss facing forward you will loss 3/4" of the actual print size on each side that is attached to the truss. Keep this in mind when creating your artwork. Do not place important graphic elements too close to the edges. Graphics attached to the front of the truss facing forward will not have this issue.

 

Naming Your files

Please name each art file the corresponding graphic code from the graphic specifications. Failure to name the files correctly may cause print errors. Print errors due to improper file submission may accrue reprint charges.

 

Imprint Methods

There are 3 imprint methods used for imprinting panels for the Orbital Truss System. Not all imprint methods are available on every truss unit due to graphic output limitations of panel printers.

• Dye Sublimation: Direct to fabric dye sublimation on 6 oz. Oxford Fabric. Available on all truss units. Graphics are hemmed with Velcro loop. Sticky back Velcro hook is applied to the truss after assembly for graphic hanging. The fabric lays smooth and flat. Fabric can be folded for transport and storage. No need for costly graphics cases. Less costly of the three imprint methods. RECOMMENDED.

• Direct-To-Substrate: The newest imprint method using direct-to-substrate flat bed printing. Printed on 22 mil flexible PVC graphics do not need lamination saving you $$$. The imprint process uses solvent based inks that penetrate the PVC creating a permanent bond at a molecular level. Magnetic tape is used to adhere the graphics to the truss unit. Prints are 1200 dpi. Limited to a maximum width of 48".

• Opaque Laminated Graphics: 1200 dpi film print laminated with opaque backer and pebble finish front. Total thickness 20 mil. Magnetic tape is used to adhere the graphics to the truss unit. Limited to a maximum width of 60".

Production Time

Graphic production time is 5 working days for smaller units and 7-10 working days for larger units. Production time begins after art proofs have been approved.

 

Proofs

Low resolution e-proofs are free. Printed proofs are available for $25.00 each plus freight charges. We suggest printed proofs if color matching is critical.
